India's car market has been quite active lately with increasing demand for SUVs, electric vehicles, and feature-rich models. While Maruti Suzuki leads in overall sales, Hyundai has maintained the second spot for two consecutive months, staying ahead of Tata Motors and Mahindra according to Vahan data from June and July 2025.
In July 2025, Hyundai sold 42,661 units, capturing a 13.2% market share, up from 39,201 units (12.9%) in June. Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, continues to dominate with 1,28,423 units sold in July, holding nearly 40% market share in both months.
The competition intensifies between Mahindra and Tata Motors, with Mahindra selling 41,476 units in July compared to Tata's 39,795 units. Tata Motors saw a significant increase from June sales of 35,344 units, while Mahindra sold 42,314 units.
