A 27-year-old Nepalese Woman Raped in Patna While Seeking Employment

A 27-year-old Nepalese woman reported being raped in Patna after arriving from Siliguri in search of employment. She alleges that a bus driver, identified as Kartikeya, gained her trust and then sexually assaulted her for two days, taking her near BSAP-1 building and Gandhi Maidan area.

PATNA: The rape of a 27-year-old Nepalese woman in the state capital was brought to light after she filed a written complaint at the Airport police station on Wednesday.She alleged that she arrived in Patna in search of a job from Siliguri (West Bengal) by train two days ago and was lured by a private bus driver who raped her for two days.In her complaint, the woman alleged, "I arrived at Patna Junction from Siliguri by train on Aug 3. After leaving the station, I was sitting outside when a driver approached me and gained my trust. I told him that I came to India in search of a job. The driver said he would help me find one. After that, he took me on a bus to his place and raped me for two days."According to the woman, the accused's name is Kartikeya. He took her by bus near BSAP-1 (Bihar Special Armed Police) building and also near Gandhi Maidan area. She alleged that the accused also snatched Rs 13,000 (Indian currency) and Rs 2,000 (Nepali notes) from her.The first person to learn about the incident was a member of Gorkha Samaj Sewa Service Samiti.

Woman left Nepal in search of work

He said that around 3pm on Tuesday, he received a call from a person near Gandhi Maidan informing him that a Nepali woman was crying. He arrived at the place with his wife and took the woman to his home. During questioning, the girl shared her story, after which a complaint was filed at the Airport police station on Wednesday.According to police sources, the Nepali woman, under pressure from her stepmother and two stepbrothers to earn money, left her country in search of work. The accused is suspected to be the driver of a private bus hired to transport BSAP personnel to Gandhi Maidan for Independence Day parade rehearsal.Sachivalaya SDPO-1 Anu Kumari said, "The traumatized Nepalese woman is currently not in a condition to provide details about the incident. Her medical examination has been conducted and the report is awaited. Further investigation is going on."The SDPO-1 further added that a Nepali organization has been informed about the incident. After the legal process is completed, the girl will be sent back to Nepal. Until then, the organization will take care of her.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)

HYDERABAD: Gopalapuram police have registered five new cases against the head of Srushti Fertility Clinic Dr Athaluri Namratha alias Pachipala Namratha, and others based on complaints lodged by five sets of victims. While in one case a couple alleged that the doctor handed them a baby whose DNA did not match theirs, three other couples accused the clinic of adopting dubious methods. They claimed that they had already paid the money â anywhere from Rs 12.5 lakh to Rs 19 lakh â and even deposited their biological samples when they grew suspicious about the operations of Dr Namratha and her clinic. The frauds occurred between 2019 and 2025. Cops are yet to ascertain details of the fifth case.

Man Awaits News of Missing Friends in Dharali Flash Flood

When Amit Semwal, 31, received a phone call on Tuesday afternoon, he was about 20 km away from his home in the mountain village of Mukhba. The caller's voice panicked, something terrible was happening in nearby Dharali. Within minutes, news of a sudden and devastating flash flood began to spread. Mukhba, located just 200 metres from Dharali but across the hill, soon became the vantage point from which horrifying visuals of the flash flood spread across social media. Semwal managed to reach close to Dharali, but the final 20 metres proved impossible as the road was submerged and the area was dangerously unstable.
